Man Pleads No Contest In Stalking Ryan Seacrest

According to sources a man who has repeatedly shown up at Ryan Seacrest’s work and events has pleaded no contest to felony stalking. Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr. entered the plea Tuesday in Los Angeles and was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Uzomah was arrested Oct 30th after he showed up at the E entertainment Television headquarters trying to contact Seacrest.

The incident was in violation of a restraining order issued in another case in which Uzomah admitted attacking one of Seacrest’s bodyguards at an event. The popular host of American Idol and a radio show obtained a civil restraining order against the twenty five year old. The Los Angeles district attorney’s office says Uzomah will be sentence on June 14th. The young man faces up to two years in prison. What a way to gain entrance into prison, follow a guy around just because he is a celebrity. That makes a whole lot of sense now doesn’t it?

Why is it that people feel as though they have to stalk celebrities? I would be afraid to walk down the street or even leave my home if there were always someone waiting on me. This isn’t the first account there are others who have been stalked and had to obtain restraining orders against people. It just doesn’t seem fair to the celebrities who are trying to live a normal life.

Some might say it comes with the territory but that is wrong. No one should have to be harassed or stalked by any means. And, this guy even attacked one of his bodyguards. He must not have been thinking too clearly to do something like that.
