Although they have been seen for years together walking up the red carpet and spending a lot of time together the Mad men star Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt have no plans to walk down the aisle for awhile. Jon jokingly responded to sources saying he doesn’t have the marriage chip but their relationship has lasted longer than his own parents marriage so he is not complaining. She is the love of his life and he doesn’t plan on losing her any time soon either.
The actor also added that children was not on the agenda yet either that they both agree that part of their lives can wait awhile as well. Becoming a parent is an entirely different way of life and you can’t shut the door on that chapter once it is opened. He did say that although it sounds good they still want to wait for the pitter patter of feet or the sound of them.
On Mad Men, which just returned for its fourth season last weekend on AMC, Jon plays a hard drinking, hard living, advertising executive who has a penchant for the ladies and the dark side. The actor revealed that some of the character actually comes from his own father who passed away when he was still really young. His smoking and drinking are pretty much the same role model. Jon also opened up to the source that his mother passed away while he was in grade school, and losing both parents wasn’t easy. Although it gave him a sense that you really can’t control life or anything about it.
His biggest thing now is his love for Jennifer and the show that he plays on. The rest is up to destiny in his opinion. He stopped believing in storybook existences a long time ago. All you can do according to him is push in a direction and see what becomes of it.
