There have been reports that the White House will have Jimmy Kimmel cracking jokes for the president. It will be “Jimmy Kimmel Live” hosting will be featured comedian at its 98th annual dinner next year.
Association president Caren Bohen told sources on Tuesday that the 43 year old entertainer was chosen because his humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience as well.
The White House Correspondence Association dinner is traditionally attended by the President and the first lady, along with various government officials and some members of the press corps. All the proceeds for this event and funds will be for scholarships and awards to support and recognize excellence in journalism.
Jimmy Kimmel did tell certain sources that he is a little nervous about the event however he is a comedian and can laugh his way into anyone’s life. Laughter is the best medicine for those times when we are down. Kimmel said in a statement that he is looking forward to being a part of the event on April 28th, 2012, also adding, “I Love Dinner.” the comedian is starting already.
