I have to tell you that I was in total shock this morning when I did my daily rounds of celebrity gossip sites.
Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey have ended their five-year relationship.
Jim Carrey’s publicist said, “Jim and Jenny have recently decided to end their five-year relationship. They are grateful for the many blessings they have shared and wish each other the very best.”
Jim and Jenny each announced their breakup on their Twitter feeds. Jenny wrote “I’m so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to Jane and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.” Jim wrote, “Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I’m grateful 4 the many blessings we’ve shared and I wish her the very best!”
Jim has one child, Jane Carrey, from his first marriage to Melissa Womer whom he divorced in 1997. Jane gave birth to her first child early last month.
A few weeks ago, Jenny told E! News how excited she was to be a pseudo grandmother. She said, “I think I’m going to rock at it and love the kid to pieces. It doesn’t bother me when people call me ‘grandma.’ I love nothing more in the world.”
There is no word on why the couple split up.
