Jewel Does Her Song For A Friend

According to sources when Jewel took the stage for the Emmy’s annual In Memoriam piece on Sunday night it wasn’t just another thing for the singer. In fact, she said it was a performance that hit really close to home. It was a song she wrote for a friend of hers that passed away, and during the red carpet primetime pre show on Sunday afternoon she did the song and for her it was rather personal.

However, “Shape Of You” the song which she performed with nothing more than her own guitar on stage doesn’t appear on any of the singers albums. Its not recorded and she was really amazed at the response she was given by everyone to let her sing the unknown song on stage. Or her fans response when she sang it. Despite her own personal loss, Jewel claimed it was an honor to do the song and lend her voice to the tribute to some of Hollywood’s late stars, including Dennis Hopper, Gary Coleman, and Rue McClanahan. She was really happy to be able to sing for people who have lost a loved one. It was hard for her to sing the song although sources say she was glad to be able and perform the song without choking up really bad.

Over the past couple years, Hollywood has lost a lot of good people as well as the music industry losing a lot of good talent. However, as people say in Hollywood the show must go on. There are those who have left us and yet they remain with us. So those who are no longer a part of Hollywood have not been forgotten.
