Jeremy Renner earned his first Oscar nomination this year and he’s going to share his big night with someone very special, his mom.
The Hurt Locker star who’s nominated for best Actor at Sunday’s academy awards told sources at the Nominees night on Thursday that his date was his mom. And he not just taking her to the Oscars his mom joined him for the lunch event too. As for his hopes on Sunday night, the actor said he wouldn’t prepare a speech.
He believes that will make it seem as though he expects to win and he doesn’t want to jinx himself. With his competitors, which include Jeff Bridges, George Clooney, Colin Firth and Morgan Freeman, Jeremy’s nominated performance as William James has been his breakthrough role. And, according to sources for that and just being nominated he feels in some ways he has already won. And his mom stands behind him one hundred percent. She is glad he has actually made it this far.
Hollywood business is not easy, the scripts, the sets, the filming, in her eyes they all add up to a lot of pressure and stress, however her son proved that he could do it and that is good enough for her.
He’s been nominated for an award right up there with other actors that are listed above. Its not intimidating according to him, its more like an honor. According to sources if he wins it will mean a great deal to him and his mother but as he stated before in some ways he has already won.
