Jay did his best not to be rude to anyone or even come across arrogant as he took the red carpet for the Oscar awards show. He answered some of the questions he was asked and relayed that yes he was happy to be the host of the Tonight Show again. According to sources he is not angry with anyone, although there have been those who feel he shouldn’t be doing the Tonight Show and that someone else should be doing it.
He is honored that so many people think he should be doing something else although that was his lame attempt at being funny. He took the red carpet and seen his long time friend Jerry Seinfeld and told him he needed to help him out in a joking kind of way. The two have been friends for quite some time and they even let the photographers photo them.
According to Jay we learn from our mistakes and he thinks that quite possibly one of his mistakes was leaving the Tonight show in the first place. According to him its where he belongs and he never should have left. And as long as Jay is making money for NBC he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
Another thing that bothered Jay was the concept that he didn’t have it in him to be the host of the Tonight Show, his comment was who is qualified to do a late night show like this? If not him then who? He loves his work and although he’s been called names and his phone has been going off amazingly all the time, he mustn’t forget the emails he has been getting too. He shrugs and just tells sources it comes with the territory.
