According to sources Barbara made the announcement that she will undergo heart surgery to replace a valve in her heart. Although she claims she has been healthy most of her life, she knows that she needs to have this procedure done in order to stay as healthy now as she can.
She told sources that she knows a lot of people have done this, and she has known about the condition her heart was in for a long time now. And the doctors are telling her that she needs to have it done now, so she has made up her mind to go ahead and take care of the situation so it doesn’t get worse.
It was not until earlier this morning that she actually told people at the View that she was having the procedure done and they were in awe to say the least. They didn’t even know she had been ill in that way. It was a total and complete surprise to them. And in essence they didn’t know what to think.
After the procedure Barbara is expecting to be laid up for at least a couple of months however she has promised to call or contact the View every once in awhile. She said her reason for not saying anything about it too far in advance would change the attitude around the View. But she did tell her friends at the View that she loved them like family.
She went on to say no one wants to have this kind of surgery and procedure because there are so many risks, however it is a successful type of surgery better than some of the others. But the fear is settled on her a bit, and she admits it. And yet, face it she is human. Our thoughts go out to Barbara Walters at this time.
