Holly Hunter’s Saving Grace Cancelled

holly hunter 249x300 Holly Hunters Saving Grace CancelledIt’s only been a few months since the cancellation of the television series Saving Grace was cancelled. There just wasn’t enough time slots and other shows were doing much better in ratings that this show was. Holly Hunter played well but there could only be so many shows on TNT.

According to sources the high production costs are what really brought the show to a halt. Saving Grace started in 2007 so it made up a few episodes before being cancelled. Now, the actress is looking into other options. Another theory was that the Closer and Saving Grace were too close together in one night, not to mention that fans thought that Kyra Sedgwick had a better class of acting. Although these were just rumors and there was never anything brought up further about it. The series has both challenged and entertained viewers in ways few other shows on television even come close to the people who liked the show. It just came down to ratings and production cost, not whether or not people actually like the show.
Since her goodbye to her gun shooting episodes she has been auditioning again for other shows and television series. Her response to all of this is that she is down but by no means out of the show business game.

And yet, she doesn’t see herself as some softy she is just too much of a kick butt gal. That was obvious in the show; however she said she would consider doing voices for animated movies and this is an option she has done more checking into.

I just recently started watching saving grace after i had my daughter in september of 09. I love this show because holly hunter has inspired me to become something in the field of justice. she takes so much pride in her acting part in this show. i dislike that it comes on at 1a.m. everyday on weekdays but i stay up even out of my busy day with a newborn i still find my relaxing time to enjoy her show that if i would have the money i would buy all her seasons. I just want holly to know that i appreciate her for making saving grace not like every other cop show there is.

I have been watching Saving Grace since the first season. It is an excellent show. Holly Hunter is wonderful, along with her other cast mates. Each has a personality and story. They all go so well together. I have been a big fan of TNT, until now.

I hadn’t known this show was cancelled until I saw a promo last week. I’m very unhappy about this. Saving Grace cannot be described as just another “cop show.” It was very unusual in that it showed a woman struggling with her belief/disbelief in God. Holly Hunter is an incredible actress and she brought a lot to the show. I will miss it. Although I also enjoy The Closer, I find myself getting more and more bored with the show because it is becoming so predictable and everything is solved too easily. I like the characters and unusual story line of Saving Grace. The show will be missed. This illustrate another reason why I rarely watch new shows–the networks will decide they haven’t made enough money and yank them and then the viewers are left hanging. I hate that.

I am a big fan of Saving Grace, I love the premiss of the show and all the characters are a thrill to watch. I would not chategorize Ms. Hunter and Ms..Sedgwik as anything but committed actors to their work. I have been watching both for many years and think they are both amazing. I am very disappointed that Saving Grace is cancelled, I would have liked to see the characters evolvement, but that is TV for you. I am sure Ms. Hunter will find her next gig, I hope it is playing a strong and diverse character as Grace, I would believe anybody she tries to sell to me.

Saving Grace IS a great show. Can not believe they cancelled another great show. TV is going to be all Friggin Reality shows pretty soon. Whats wrong with you people? Id rather watch great shows like these than watch some camera follow some family or a woman trying to have a kid . They should bring the show back, thats my thoughts. Holly Hunter you are a great actress… Stay with it.

I really enjoy “Saving Grace.” I have to wonder whether this show is really being cancelled because the “powers that be” are unhappy with the overtly religious theme. Could this show simply be too religious to be allowed to stay on T.V.?

I’m so disappointed that this show is canceled. Of all the shows, this one reaches into real life situations that so many are affected by and struggle with on an everyday basis. It is a shame that TNT doesn’t continue to take the risk in allowing this show to continue its message that can reach those who watch it. I for one have been impacted by watching it and will miss it. Holly Hunter and the rest of the cast are OUTSTANDING. Perhaps another network will wise up to this wonderful show and pick it up (wishful thinking)

The cancellation of Saving Grace is proof that network television is all about money and nothing about quality shows. I loved this show because it wasn’t the run of the mill series. I never liked the Closer because I thought the character didn’t do justice to Keira Sedwicks acting abilities. Saving Grace capitalized on Holly Hunter’s magnificent skills as an actress and unique style of acting. I wish Holly Hunter the best of luck. Any show that she decides to grace with her presence will be a success!

Holly Hunter is a great actress and Saving Grace is a great TV show; TNT’s best show by far. How on earth could it be more expensive than The Closer which is just another cop show. TNT, get your head out of your ass and bring this show back — it’s the best show you have ever aired.

Boy, I’ve been double whammed this week. First 24 and today I found out about Saving Grace. My two favorite shows. I watched both since day one and have never missed an episode. I’ve come to realize that if there is anything different about a show it’s not going to last long. The highest percentage of viewers go for the ‘run of the mill’ stuff and that’s why every show is the same. Different title–different names–but the same story line. Holly Hunter is a wonderful actress and that is the reason I started watching the show in the first place. If she has another series you can be sure it’ll be different and worth watching. I know I will be.

It does not matter what you say. This happens all the time. Anything good & interesting that requires any brain power to watch is dropped by America. This was a good show as were many others dropped by this network & others. You start to really follow & enjoy a program & then they yank the plug. It is disposable TV. Run all by CEOs of course. It is the good ol’ Amercian bottom line. No loyalty or heart in this country anymore. It is all about money. That is all that matters. Do not get to attached to anything & no one cares. That sums it all up.

I’m unreasonably upset about this show being cancelled, it was one of the most insightful, well written, thoughtful shows on television, but it seems that such is the fate of most brilliant tv shows these days. It’s a shame how vapid and uninformed most of the tv viewership is in America.

Saving Grace has become a ritual favorite at our house; we’ve watched it from the beginning. Drawn-into the series by the allure of Holly Hunter’s diverse acting abilities, my hubby & I were hooked from the opening credits to the story-lines that were intrigueing w/o being ‘over the top’. We both looked forward to the show & the whole ensemble cast appeared to have great fun making the episodes, minus blood & gore being added for realism. I hate to see Saving Grace leave the air, but hope that Holly & her castmates find relief in the form of another network to pick them up. This show deserves to be rescued!!.

I have watched Saving Grace since the beginning. This is a great show that shows the struggles of her spiritual beliefes and all aspects of her life. The show is real and its raw and it makes you think. It is by far NOT “just another cop show”. I think TNT is making a big mistake in cancelling the show. I hope Holly Hunter lands another prime time show because I will definately watch it. She is a great actress. Her costars on the show are great too. I hope to see them also. Its just a shame. It was refreshing watching a show that deals with God and the struggles that an everyday person has in believing in faith.

Another good show thrown out to make room for crap. Saving Grace had it all: mystery, suspense, edgyness, tenderness, romance, and you never knew what was going to happen next. Not to mention a kick-ass main character of my age group who showed you can be totaly fit and gorgeous after 40. Honestly, how many variations of “Law & Order” do we need? On the upside, I am back to reading books for entertainment and leaving the tv off.

I think the heads of tnt have some loose screws. First they cancel one of my favorites, “Raising the Bar” and ended it by having the last 3 episodes air on one night (which I missed since it was Christmas). Now Saving Grace is cancelled. Holly Hunter and all the other actors were the best. It makes me not want to watch new shows for fear of cancellation. I have started watching “Justified” on FX and am holding my breath.

This is just terrible, it wasn’t TNT’s decision to cancel the show, just thought I’d put that out there because there are a lot of misconceptions on that. But, I can’t believe FOX TV decided that there wasn’t enough money, I mean, HELLO aren’t they the one’s that produced the movie Avatar? This is just despicable and I hope the head of FOX TV or whoever it was that decided not to pick the show up burns in hell for all eternity, way to go losers, by the way, Kyra Sedgwick sucks, I’ve watched The Closer and it’s nothing amazing, just another boring show that we don’t need, I’ve actually watched a few episodes and it’s just the same stuff, Saving Grace on the other hand is amazing, but not even that describes it. When my Mom told me about this show I was like, yeah, another cop show, just like anything else that’s on, tell me something I don’t know, a real skeptic, but I watched and was like WOW!!!!!!!!!! How could I have thought so horrid of the show, I loved it. Hope you all lose big time FOX, hope you all rot.

I am so disappointed to be watching the last Saving Grace episode. Holly Hunter is a superb actress and the supporting cast is great. The writing is sharp, quirky, and keeps us all guessing. I always seem to start watching a show right when its been cancelled! I have to say I am very disappointed with Fox that they have canceled this show. I am a big fan and was happy to see Holly Hunter in such a riveting role. This show is exciting and so relevant to the turbulent times we face today. And it seriously cut through all of the BS reality shows that have drowned us on TV for the past five years.

I guess I’ll go back to reading books.

I thought it was a great show and should be brought back!!! Making money isn’t the main reason it’s cancelled. Think about it anything that has to do with GOD in it americans don’t want to see any more – atleast the ones at Fox. I’m a true beliving in God american and it’s ashame they’re taking it off instead of the real CRAP they leave on tv!!!!! Like the Closer you see one cop show we’ve seen them all- and there really are to many!!!!

Why is it that the stations all want to just apeal to the younger groups? Why are the older groups ignored? I think Ms. Hunter and the cast did a great job for all ages. The writers of this program did a great job with Grace and her family problems and her work family and their problems. Everyone has problems and this showed how Grace chose to deal with them. It is like having one of your own family die, this is so sad. Fox would rather keep The Closer, a show just like all the others. You can not relate to stick people or any of the story lines in the few shows I saw. SAD SAD SAD PLEASE LET OUR GRACE LIVE Bring her back as a angle who helps those she left behind.

just finished watching season finale and almost simultaneously finding it out that it is the shows finale. I don’t get it. not a particularly religious person but a fan of several crime dramas, this one had some truly deep characters in it. Truthfully, I cried for the loss at the end not really realizing that it was the end which only made the news that it was cancelled more tragic. What a shame. The characters on saving grace were fallible and perfect. Hard to believe that such a gem had such a short life, not the first and certainly not the last. Sorry to see you all go…

You know…. I started watching last year, get caught up on all the old shows of Saving Grace, then get excited that they were coming back for another episode…. I live in OKC… and I was actually excited that someone came up with something for OKC, instead of other places as they do… I loved that show, and pretty upset that it’s off the air…. It really surprised me that you cancelled Saving Grace instead of The Closer…. I’m not much into cops shows, but I really loved this show…. You could of done a better exit for Grace though… you could of lefted it open for maybe to come back when things had settled down on production and cost… I just HATED that you killed her off….. This show will be sadly missed… i always looked forward to seeing this show on Mondays…. Now what am I going to do now????

I loved this show from the very beginning. Loved the storyline and how the whole premise worked without being cheesy or cartoonish. I was disappointed to see it ending but knew that these things happen especially to good shows. Now, I am shocked with the way they chose to end such a wonderful show. The final episode was both cheesy and cartoonish. It left me feeling as if they just found a way to wrap it all up without putting much thought at all into the characters or plotlines. Such an unfitting end to a wonderful show.

Why am I not surprised? TV basically sucks and is an enormous waste of time. Personally, I’m weary of “reality” shows and junk shows, such as Operation Repo, Dog the Bounty Hunter, The Exterminators, Dirty Jobs, Wife Swap, The Real Housewives of Orange County, Living Lohan, those dumb competition shows (Dance Your Ass Off for example), etc., etc., etc. There’s not a lot on that’s worthwhile and yet we pay through the teeth for access and still have to put up with a ridiculous amount of mind-numbing, irritating commercials too. Cable companies brag about how many channels come with your “package,” but 97% of the channels aren’t worth having! This is why my TV is off except for Whale Wars, Bones (which is also starting to get dull), occasional news, occasional history channel programs, and I like the Adventures of Merlin that was playing on SciFi. Otherwise, BORING.

My husband and I were devastated with how the show ended. If it was going off the air, why take her out like this? Why not let her and Ham have the life they deserved? We’ve been devoted watchers since the beginning and right up to the bitter end. I kept telling my husband for about 3 weeks…”I don’t like the direction of Grace’s character is going. I have a bad feeling that they’re going to end on a sour note”. And that you did. Was the only way for her to get peace to commit suicide in the name of revenge or guilt for her sister? It was a totally self-destructive season anyway with nothing productive happening for Grace. I mean she killed a kid, smoked crack, then while she was high, she threw a lit cigar into a pile of ammonium nitrate. Why the hell not, we’re cancelled, so WTF? Who cares? Her going out in a body bag like a crack whore was an insult to all of us. What a terribly sad way for them to end the show. It’s an emotional rip-off for all us fans IMHO.
