Don Cheadle Named Goodwill Ambassador For UN

Don Cheadle the actor was named the goodwill ambassador for the UN as an environmental program. He was appointed Saturday at the capital as a U.N. environment program goodwill Ambassador and vowed to fight climate change and to also promote environmental conservation.

UNEP director Achim Steiner at the appointment announced saying that Cheadle was going to help raise green awareness among millions of people around the globe and he was commended for his work.

Cheadle was also able to name a baby gorilla which was a name chosen by internet users as part of the UNEP awareness program. In 2004 he starred in the movie Hotel Rwanda which basically told the world about the genocide that claimed the lives of more than 500,000 people. He is a good spokesperson for the UN and he has the determination to get things done. The Rwandan government however was a little sketchy about him.

All he wants to do is help and not cause more problems among their people. He feels as though he can make a difference and perhaps along the way even make some good changes. He is one of the actors that cares. There are many of those these days. He knows that he hasn’t done a lot of acting lately but what acting he has done has been successful. Don will make a difference if he can according to sources that’s all he said. He wants to make a difference.
