According to sources Dennis Hopper died today in his Venice, California home. He had all of his children and his estranged wife with him when he died. Dennis Hopper was a Hollywood legend.
He had quietly fought with prostate cancer for more than nine years, with the disease taking its toll over the last few months. He was presented with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in March and honored by his Easy Rider co star Jack Nicholson. At the time of his death he was still in a procedure for divorce from his wife Victoria, and he filed for that divorce in January.
Sources say at the time of the divorce proceedings Dennis was too sick to undergo questioning at the legal proceedings. In April, a judge ruled that Victoria and their seven year old child could stay and live on the actor’s property as he continued his problem with his health.
In 2009, he attended an event that dealt with Cancer research and his response was that it had great promise. He said everything’s good right now.
He was an icon for Hollywood and for six decades you could find him there. In addition to his film making and television career he was also a photographer and an artist.
