According to sources the son of actress Cybill Shepherd is entering a pretrial program in Pennsylvania which will require him to attend 24 alcoholics anonymous meetings in hopes of clearing his record of theft charges.
Her son was admitted into the program Friday by a judge and the arrangement was part of an agreement with the prosecutors. The 22 year old college student was charged with stealing cash, a camera, and other items from carry on luggage during a flight in January. However, if he completes the program, the charges for this crime will be cleared from his record.
The young man declined a comment after the hearing he is the son of a star a great actress and does not in any way want to tarnish his mother’s name. He didn’t think before he acted he admitted however he knows it was wrong and admits to doing the crime and knows that the theft charges should be upon him. He claims he will do whatever it takes to get the charges cleared from his record even if it means the 24 classes in AA meetings. That lets you know that he wasn’t exactly sober when he did the crime.
Cybill stands behind her son and only wants what is best for him. She would like it if he would do as the judge sentenced him to do and go through the meetings. Afterward she would like to see her son go back to college. She stated that he is a good young man trying to find himself and that’s not the way to do it. He had no reason to do it, she admitted all he had to do is get a hold of her however he didn’t do that. Her son will be starting the 24 AA meetings soon.
