The country music singer Jimmy Dean died of natural causes in his Virginia home. According to sources the sausage entrepreneur gave a lot in his lifetime. He had a few health problems but not enough to cause death.
Jimmy Dean wrote songs like Big Bad John which was a number one hit in both the country and pop charts in 1961. He was a man of many talents and his death came to a shock to his wife and family. He was watching television and just drifted away peacefully.
Later he had his own show, The Jimmy Dean Show aired that aired for three years. After that he appeared on the Daniel Boone as one of his friends. This was in the 1960’s too. The singer also started a meat company known as The Jimmy Dean Meat Company eventually selling the company to Sara Lee Foods in 1984. Although he remained chairman and spokesman for the company as time went on. He had a lot of family and friends over the years and even more friends in the country music business. He never really did leave the country music scene and he was inducted into the country music hall of fame this year. That to him, was a true honor and he lived to see it happen.
The family is asking for privacy at this time and would greatly appreciate some time as they mourn the passing of Jimmy Dean. Jimmy Dean will not soon be forgotten by a lot of people who cared for him very much. And his fans will remember the old time country singer he was too.
