The report is in. Chely Wright is a married woman. The country artist, who came out last year, has married girlfriend, Lauren Blitzer according to sources. The 40 year old singer wed he now wife at Lauren’s aunt’s Connecticut home in front of more than 200 guests, according to additional sources.
While both brides donned white gowns for the nuptials, neither wanted to wear traditional veils. They liked their hair too much. As Chely is Christian and Lauren is Jewish, the newlyweds ceremony was presided over by both a reverend and a rabbi. Chely came out of the closet so to speak in 2010 after years of keeping silent that she was gay. Historically, we have never had an our country music artist ever.
She told sources that early in her life she went through what a lot of gay people go through, thinking they can change and pray it away. Chely also said that she felt she was living a lie, especially when it came to her relationship with fellow country music artist Brad Paisley, who was not aware that she was gay.
When she realized he was wanting forever with her she could see the damage she would do to him so she cut it off with him completely, cold turkey, she added. The country star considered taking her own life in 2006. She was looking in the mirror and she was about to do it then she realized she had too much to live for now matter who she was.
