According to sources CBS has been going crazy in the sense of trying to replace Two and a Half Men sized problem in its current schedule, a problem that is brought on by the threat of losing the lucrative sitcom forever because of the star Charlie Sheen.
The network and series producer Warner Bros. television have actually hundreds of millions of dollars at stake in the return of the top rated comedy. While Charlie Sheen is in rehab after a 911 call and a trip to the hospital last week filming for this season was stopped with sixteen of the season’s planned twenty four episodes completed. There was literally no comment if Charlie Sheen would return to the set or not. Only two of the Monday night show’s finished episodes are unaired, and they are scheduled to be broadcast on February 7th and 14th. To cover the chaos they have ordered two extra episodes of another show and then repeats of Two and a Half Men. It is true that no other sitcom comedy has the momentum as this show even in reruns.
But the return of the 45 year old actor is at this point, questionable. He has been ultimately living on the edge, with a wild night in October that left a New York hotel room in chaos and sent him to a hospital, and a guilty plea last summer to assaulting his wife, Charlie Sheen filled a lot of gossip tabloids and columns again in January by spending a weekend partying hard in Las Vegas. He is putting at risk his health, wealth, CBS, and Warner Bros. The sitcom also serves as anchor for the network’s Monday comedy lineup.
Now, he is to be in rehab for 90 days. If Sheen leaves Two And A Half Men sources stated the network would most certainly try and do the sitcom without him.
