Baby Duggar Leaves the Hospital

After being in the hospital in NICU for four months, Baby #19 of the Duggar family, Josie Brooklyn is finally going home.

Father, Jim Duggar, said in a statement to People Magazine, “We’re grateful for the prayers of thousands. We are so happy.”

Mom, Michelle Duggar, adds, “We are so excited, we are running on adrenaline. I have been getting into the routine of three hour feedings, diapering and taking her temperature. We are so encouraged that she is doing so well.”

Josie was born on December 10th, 2009 by emergency c-section at just 25 weeks. She weighed 1 lb. 6 oz. She was only 8 days old when she suffered a bowel perforation.

Today, Josie is coming along just fine. She is 4 lbs. 9 oz., is breathing on her own and eats well every three hours.

Michelle says about Josie, “She has a strong personality. She is a spunky little thing and will keep us going.”
Josie has 18 brothers and sisters. The oldest is 22 years old and the youngest, before Josie was born, is 1 year and 3 months old.

Their reality show, 19 Kids and Counting will air on Sunday May 9th, 2010.
