Adam Lambert to Mentor on American Idol

Let me just give you my opinion on this to start with. American Idol must be desperate to have Adam Lambert as a mentor. First of all, he didn’t win last season. He was only a runner-up. And it was just last season. Why don’t they have someone who has experience such as Jordin Sparks or Carrie Underwood? He is set to be the mentor on next week’s show.

Lambert tweeted yesterday afternoon, “It’s true! In addition to performing on Idol April 14th, I will be mentoring the top 8 on the 13th. I feel honored to be asked. Even though I’m just at the start of my recording career, I hope to lend some insight as one who’s been thru the Idol adventure. excited!! Don’t worry America: I will be beyond family friendly. Relax and enjoy. For Your Entertainment.”

I do understand that he has previous Idol experience so he can give the contestants experience about the show. But I think that American Idol is just trying to save this season. The ratings for this season are pretty low compared to other seasons. So American Idol is just trying anything to get the ratings up.

Two weeks ago, American Idol had Miley Cyrus be a mentor to the contestants. Miley Cyrus? Are you kidding? She is only 17 years old. How can she mentor anyone? She is a great singer and all but she is just too young to be a mentor.
